How to Identify the ARES Striker

When it comes to sniper platforms, there is a never ending list of systems that are used by manufacturers to build a new rifle. One of the more notable systems is going to be the C.P.S.B system that was designed by ARES to be used in the Striker platform. The ARES Striker platforms are the following:

  • AMOEBA Striker AS-01
  • AMOEBA Striker AS-02 (Short Barrel)
  • EMG Helios EV-01 Bolt Action
  • EMG Helios EV-02 Compact
  • EMG Helios EV-03 Tactical

The main differences between all these guns are going to be minimal but worth noting and going over to help you identify and choose the right parts when upgrading/repairing. The two Striker systems that are going to be the most different are the AS-01 and the AS-02. The AS-01 is going to be the first system that was introduced under the Amoeba name and distributed by Elite Force. It featured a two piece trigger system compared to the AS-02 that had a one piece system.

Another difference is going to be the hop-up adjustment and the placement it has on the top rail of the gun. The AS01 is going to be centered in a picatinny ladder while the AS02 is going to be slightly off centered. There are two different upgrade adjustment wheels that can be installed by Action Army so this is going to help you choose the correct version for the model you have.

The EMG Helios EV line is going to have the AS-02 adjustment style of set screw. For the rest of the parts like the Bolt assembly, Hop-up unit, and inner barrel/bucking are all going to be cross compatible. The inner barrel is going to be a VSR-10 cut with a closed bridged window. The Bucking is going to be VSR-10 cut as well.

To wrap this up nicely, the platform is a great system stock and does not really need that many upgrades out of the box. It makes it easy to up the FPS as well with the use of a standard AEG spring. The bolt is going to be a CNC unit and the cylinder is going to be steel so you are going to get a nice durable setup compared to some other platforms that are molded pot metal. All of these features with a starting price of only $149.00.
